Close up of purse in progress...

... the trim around the edges of the leaf's is copper, a yarn I bought in Lansing while on a field trip with my friends from the Two Twelve Art Center.

Purse in progress..

Last posted 1-17-10. I'm calling this one Fall Leaf's and I'm having a wonderful time embroidering with some of my specialty yarns.

African Purse...

...finally finished. I needed to stabalize the top opening to support the weighted closer.
Also, it took awhile to find a weight I liked. The beads repeat the shape of the purse plus match the color used in the design. Even tho it doesn't match the picture here.

Felted Mittens

there's very few items I can make from a pattern. Now I can add mittens to the list.

Needle felting a new purse

I saw a fabric design I liked and thought I'd attemp to apply to a wool purse. It's a work in progress, I need to add fall leaf's and embellishment. This piece will be in Paul and my show in November 2010. Skiens and Knots

The Earth Reception...

was tonight at the Two Twelve Art Center. My hats took second place for 3-D art. It was a lovely reception so many people.
It's been four weeks since my surgery. I wasn't sure I'd make it to the exhibit, but with the help of my son driving me there, I've had a huge day.

Kathy's Purse finished

Alright I finished Kathy's purse. She's been very patient. I had total knee replacement surgery mid Dec, which kept me from finishing her purse before Christmas.

The Fairy Door WINNER...

my husband Paul. He says that fairy doors can show up in the most unusal places. Nice job Paul.
The judge Keith McGuire called his fairy door whimsical.

Fairy Door Challenge

at the Two Twelve Art Center, was this morning.
My fairy door house is made of felted wool, embellished with flowering i-cord vines. The door is a piece of Mulberry, embellished with beads and backed with a swirly watercolor design. Inside on the floor are soft roving flowers and under the welcome mat a key. It's topped off with a little green felted hat, with it's fairy hanging from it's brim.
It was a great project I've always wanted to make a fairy door.

I need your opinion...

... with the handle for this purse. The client ordered the purse for her mother and wants two short handles.
I've made an I-cord hand, but I'm having a hard time deciding just how I want to attach it. ( I should tell you the lining on the inside comes up to the top of the flowers) leaving the Mauve section open for attaching the handle.
Suggestions please.

To Be Felted Mittens

Bought this Mitten pattern in Chicago over a year ago. I now have some extra time on my hands.
