Zen Tangle Drawing

Drawing Zen Tangle, is something most of us did in middle school. Now it is published in books or googled. It's been a healing process for me the last few weeks after shoulder surgery. It's kept me quietly sitting in my chair.

Zen Tangle original

Drawing zen tangles has been great fun. The director at the Twelve Art Center, suggested that I have yardage made of my design.
Posting this question on facebook, I recieved a website, spoonflower.com

Zen Tangle yardgoods

With the help of Megan at 212. My design made it's way though cyberspace to spoonflower and six days later my own fabric arrived in the mail.

Personal Pattern Challenge

R0xanne, challenged the 212 artists, to create a piece of art work symbolizing their personal pattern. She gave us a written example explaning that each person has their own pattern, your heart, circulatory system, etc. all have a pattern. Which can change from relaxation to mood change to excitement.

Personal Pattern

I titled my piece "My 24 hour pattern" . I carried a piece of muslin with me one day and doodled with black marker. Over a few days I colored it, made it into this block and embellished it........ leaving a few loose threads as the loose ends I always seem to have at the end of any given day.

Personal Pattern

There were many pieces turned in for the Pattern challenge and there were three winners, Hollee, Amy and I.

Personal Pattern

........ the next challenge is the Micro Earth challenge, due end of May and I have a fun idea for that one.

Making progress.........

Using Mali symbols in the design of my sweater. The images tell a story. Now working on the second sleeve, which has a sad story. There's a jealous husband, a crocodile and a one legged girl. So the story continues as the sweater continues... how will the story end?

"Whats Inside Me"

This challenge came from Kat Campau's, Art Salad group at the Two Twelve Art Center. My challenge piece is now hanging at Kat's Hawaiian Getaway show at 212.
The main idea for this piece came from Megan C. accidently felting her wool socks. And, meeting with her mother for coffee every Wednesday, she gifted the socks to me, saying maybe you can do something with these... and Waa la, a face was born.
I have a passion for humorus art.

"What's Inside Me"

This up close pic shows , that her boobs are fortune cookies. I made her a felted heart, her arms and legs are felt strips with food labels attached. Her body is a clear plastic bag and her insides are a collage of labels.

Inspired by Kandinsky

I've been wanting to make this felt piece since this summer. When I saw a Kandinski print at the salvation army and bought it for two bucks. I thought that would look great in felt. This peice will be part of the show at My Favorite Cafe, in March and April.
